Record a child’s absence
Record an absence when a child is scheduled for care but will be away. In AmalynCare, the attendance choices are Sick Leave, Vacation and Other Leave.
These choices describe that day’s attendance. Check your program’s billing policy separately when you need to know whether the day is chargeable.
Add a leave status
Section titled “Add a leave status”- Open Attendance.
- Choose the Site, Group and Date, then select Refresh.
- Find the child and the Leave / status area in their row.
- Enter a short Reason, such as “Family called to let us know Maya is resting at home.”
- Open Status and choose Sick Leave, Vacation or Other Leave.
Choosing the status saves the change. Check the status beside the child’s name and the note shown in their row.
The reason is required before you can choose a leave status. Keep it useful and limited to what your team needs for the attendance record.
Return the child to Expected
Section titled “Return the child to Expected”If the absence was entered by mistake and the child is expected to attend, clear Reason, then choose Expected from Status. The screen makes this choice available when the reason is blank.
Expected means the child is expected on the roster; it does not record an arrival. When the child arrives, use Check In.
If the child or status is missing
Section titled “If the child or status is missing”Confirm that the roster shows the intended date. Changing the date selector alone does not reload it: select Refresh.
The enrollment must be confirmed and scheduled for that day. Attendance actions are unavailable on closed days. Follow the missing-child checks if the roster still does not match the care arrangement.
For charges on absences and closures, see billable days, holidays and closures.
