Choose how long notifications are kept
Your organization decides how long notifications stay available. The setting applies to everyone in the organization: staff in the portal and kiosk, and families in their family workspace. You can find it under Organization Settings → Organization.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”You need access that lets you edit organization details. If the Notifications section has no pencil, you can check the setting but not change it.
Change how long notifications are kept
Section titled “Change how long notifications are kept”- Open Organization Settings → Organization.
- Choose the pencil beside Notifications.
- In Keep notifications for (days), enter a whole number from 1 to 365.
- Choose Save Notifications.
- Check that Keep notifications for shows the new number of days.
An organization that has never changed this setting keeps notifications for 30 days.
What happens to older notifications
Section titled “What happens to older notifications”Each notification is kept for the chosen number of days from the moment it was created, whether or not anyone has read it. After that, it leaves the Notifications list and no longer counts as unread.
A change takes effect straight away. If you shorten the period, older notifications disappear from everyone’s list at once. AmalynCare deletes expired notifications automatically once a day, and deleted notifications can’t be restored.
Only the notification is removed, not what it told you about. For example, a message from your team stays in the family’s Messages after the notification about it expires.
If the pencil is missing
Section titled “If the pencil is missing”Your account can view organization details but not change them. Ask an Owner to review your role. Understand what you can see and change.
